Former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe is still dealing with online bullying a couple of years after she gave out her final rose to her fiancé Shawn Booth.

Bristowe, who is Canadian, was known as one of the most controversial Bachelorettes in the franchise’s history due to outspoken behaviour.

Since the end of her season, Bristowe continues to receive online hate and remains a frequent topic in the news.

With social media being the root of all the hate, how does someone in the public eye deal with the online abuse every day? Speaking to Humber students at an International Women’s Day event on Mar. 9, Bristowe talked about how she wants to use her platform to empower women, not tear them down.
