shopping-bags-rainbowBlack Friday is upon us again and a lot of Canadians will be participating in this wonderful day of sales.

On the Friday the 29th, shops across the country will be opening up their doors to customers to get merchandise at supposedly low prices. Still some shoppers will not be participating in the sale.

Mia, a shopper at Square One says she will not be participating in the Black Friday sale because prices of items are generally reduced around the holidays.

“I fell like everything is on sale right now, everything is so available, one other sale day doesn’t make a difference,” said Mia

Another shopper, Natelie, says she will not be participating  because it gets rowdy.

“It will be too busy, and I don’t like busy,”said Natelie.

However, electronic shoppers like Chris, will partake in the sales because of the reduced prices.

“Stuff is generally cheaper,” said Chris.

According to fashion stylist and coordinator of Passion for Fashion, Annie Lam, shoppers make some common mistakes that can be avoided at this time.

“They get overwhelmed and end up buying things they don’t need. They don’t plan ahead and get swayed by the prices,” said Annie.

Lam, who has styled for Swarovski Pearls at the ROM exhibit, says these mistakes can be avoided. Here are some tips below:

  1. Plan Ahead
  2. Know where everything is
  3. Take a friend- they can help you search for other things while you shop. They also increase the amount of items you can get on items that have a limited quantity for purchasing)
  4. Some items like electronics will be on sale after the Black Friday Sale, because of the holidays so, DON’T STRESS!
  5. You can always do Cyber Monday!
