The Canadian National Railway Company pressured their union, Unifor, to concede to binding arbitration and continued to threaten workers with a lockout over the weekend.
Unifor expressed concern over Twitter that CN should go back to the bargaining table instead of seeking arbitration and said it plans to vote to strike.
All this came after CN said it would unilaterally change a labour pact that covered staff if an agreement was not reached by Feb. 20.
CN said it would implement a contingency plan if the lockout proceeds, with trained management performing the duties of Unifor members.
