Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco will be joining the team ahead of schedule.
Giovinco was due to link up with the club during the midway point of the MLS season in July. However, Juventus, his former club announced that the five-foot-four forward has been released.
The Reds is currently training in Orlando, Florida, before their pre-season starts.
Giovinco is expected to arrive in Toronto later this week, said a spokesman for the MLS club. He will likely be with his new teammates when they return.
The Italian player will play in the hole behind newly acquired American international striker Jozy Altidore.
