The Oscars held a number of musical performances, however the three that resonated with people the most were Common and John Legend’s Glory, Lady Gaga’s The Sound of Music tribute and Everything is Awesome performed by Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island, according to Billboard.
Billboard described Common and John Legend’s performance as ‘chill-inducing’, reporting “Selma may be forever viewed as deserving of more nominations, but for those few minutes, “Glory” secured its place in Oscar history.”

Andrews gave an emotional recount of her experiences making the film in 1965, saying Gaga’s performance warmed her heart. According to The Telegraph, Gaga’s performance brought many to tears. “Great music does more than enhance a film, it cements our memories in the film-going experience.” Andrew said.
On a lighter note, Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island pumped some fun, upbeat energy into the Academy Awards with their performance of Everything is Awesome, featured in the Lego Movie soundtrack.
