CANADA – Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 closed after a fatal collision that left one
person dead and another with critical injuries.
The Tuesday morning crash involved a flatbed truck and a car and occurred shortly after
9 a.m., police said.
One person with critical injuries has been transported to the trauma center at Toronto’s
Sunnybrook hospital by an Ornge air ambulance.
The highway was closed in both eastbound and westbound lanes to allow the helicopter
to land. However, the westbound lanes have reopened and all eastbound lanes at
Trafalgar Road will remain closed for several hours.
