Toronto Maple Leafs suffered from another loss against New York Islander with an overtime finishing goal by Islanders captain John Tavares.
Tavares added an assist in the win and now has a league-leading 72 points.
David Booth and Peter Holland hustled to score one goal each in the first and second period respectively, giving the Leafs an early 2-0 lead. However in the third period, Tyler Kennedy, Frans Nielsen, and Casey Cizikas scored a goal each, tying the Leafs 3-3 with a goal from James van Riemsdyk.
“We did do some good things, but when you’re up by two goals in the third on home ice, you should never lose the game,” said van Riemsdyk in an interview with Sportsnet.
