Toronto Police will be providing an update this morning on the fatal shooting that took the life of 35-year-old Malton women Candice Rochelle Bobb in 2016.

According to a TPS news release, Bobb, who was five months pregnant at the time, was traveling in a vehicle in the area of John Garland Boulevard when she was struck by gunfire. Bobb was the only one injured among the four passengers. She was dropped off at a local hospital where her baby was delivered by emergency C-section. Bobb subsequently died of her injuries. Her baby died a few weeks later.

Police have yet to release any information on possible suspects, but investigators do believe the vehicle was targeted. They are still unclear who the shooter intended to attack.

Det.-Sgt. Mike Carbone will be on hand at today’s news conference, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
