People have been saying for years that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you’ve ever been to Dundas Street Grille, you’d know those people are right.
Nestled on the corner of Aukland and Dundas, just outside of Kipling Station, Dundas Street Grill is one of the best and oldest breakfast restaurants in the city. The restaurant opened in 1984 and it has developed a devout customer base over the years, including at one point in time players from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“It used to happen quite often,” said Michael DeAngelo, owner of the restaurant. “Some of the old timers are still coming back in.”
“We’ve been known for breakfast for many years. We win the Diamond award for the Etobicoke Guardian on a regular basis, it’s a yearly thing,” said DeAngelo.
For eight dollars, a customer can get a big breakfast meal consisting of three eggs, toast, bacon, and a generous serving of home fries. Like many diners, for a couple of bucks you can drink all the coffee you want, making for a complete breakfast or brunch experience — and the perfect place to go for a date.

“The workers were very polite. They asked me if I needed anything, and had smiles on their faces,” said Jmari Janilin, a customer who had just finished her meal at Dundas Street Grille. “I want to try the lunch menu. I was impressed by their breakfast… There was a lot of flavour.”
Dundas Street Grille is one of those restaurants that leave you satisfied and full, but at the same time wanting to come back for more. There’s a reason why they have such a loyal customer base — after all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
