A scorpion was an uninvited passenger on an Air Transat flight, biting a Toronto woman, the CBC reports.

Quin Maltais was on her way to Calgary when she felt something moving down her back.

Flight attendants believed it was a gum wrapper, until the creature was discovered in the fold of her seat.

Maltais immediately jumped out of her seat and paramedics were at the scene to take her out of the plane.

She doesn’t have any severe or permanent injuries from the bite.

According to CBC, a heart monitor was attached because she was unable to remain calm.

Flight officials still don’t know how the scorpion managed to board the flight.
