Robert Volpentesta is the owner and operator of the new Instagram food blog @Bobert.eats.
@Bobert.eats post photos of his great homemade dishes made from scratch. The account also features other chef’s dishes and local go-to spots to try out in the GTA. @Bobert.eats has only been active for a few short weeks but has already gained a big following.
“Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always had a fascination with food and cooking,” says Volpentesta.
Volpentesta attributes his love for food from growing up in an Italian household.
“I watched my grandmother in the kitchen as a toddler and enjoyed Sunday dinners with the family, so food has always been a big part of my life,” says Volpentesta.
Fabian Serra, an avid Instagram user, has been liking and commenting on @Bobert.eats.
“I tried to emulate the pancakes @Bobert.eats made a few weeks ago,” says Serra. “The photo looked so good that I had an instant craving for the pancakes.” He added, “Unfortunately they didn’t taste as good as the photo looked, but I’m learning and just love the content on @Bobert.eats.”
Marc Lahaie, another follower of @Bobert.eats, says the page has now inspired him to cook more, which pleased his wife.
“My wife is Italian so food is a big deal in our household,” says Lahaie. “I’ve taken a few ideas from @Bobert.eats and let’s just say my wife is super pleased with me right now!”
Volpentesta goals are to continue posting regular food content, and his own Youtube cooking channel is already in the works.
“I can’t wait to start my youtube channel and give cooking tutorials,” says Volpentesta. “I want to my channel to be a place where you can learn to cook great meals and have a laugh or two.”
