John Legend named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2019

John Legend is joining People Magazine’s list of the sexiest men alive.

People Magazine says it chose Legend because of his “buttery voice and unparalleled musical skills.” The star is also praised for his down-to-earth attitude, and not to mention his good looks.

“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure,” Legend said to People when he was notified. “Everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title. I’m [also] following Idris Elba, which is not fair and is not nice to me!”

Elba – last year’s winner – tweeted about Legend’s victory: 

But the Skedline’s entertainment section… well… we think Legend looks kind of like Arthur the aardvark in that tweet.

So who would Skedline journalists have picked?

• For me, it’s gotta be Keanu Reeves: he’s woke, he’s handsome, and you can tell there’s something going on behind those eyes.

• Skedline’s Entertainment Visual Editor Jacob Brooks says it’s got to be Donald Glover. “He’s just a good lookin’ guy in every sense of the word. Can’t get more perfect than that.”

• Our Entertainment reader Mariana Belham says you can’t beat a classic like ex-teen-heartthrob Nick Jonas, who should be shuffled to the top of the list.

Jaden Hamilton – my buddy in the site-writer’s pit – says for him it would be a toss-up between Madridian actor Omar Ayuso, and Spanish actor Alvaro Rico, but the only quote I could get out of him was “Oh my God!”
