Los Angeles (Reuters) – American actress Shannen Doherty has revealed her breast cancer diagnosis’ return.
Doherty, 48, shared the details about her health on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday.
“It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways,” says Doherty.
The BH90210 star was first diagnosed in 2015 and has been regularly checked since.
Doherty discussed her learning about the return of cancer during the filming of “BH90210” and just four months following the death of her co-star Luke Perry.
The actress made the decision to delay sharing the diagnosis for some time. Previously she was very open and public on Instagram about her treatments. This was her way of showing that people diagnosed with stage four cancer “still have some living to do.”
Doherty spent the last few years in remission.
