The 92nd Academy Award is already a huge event to look forward to. However, every year is always made special to keep the viewers entertained and thrilled for the ceremony. Here are some things to watch for, in tonight’s airing of the Oscars.

First: Actress Cynthia Erivo — newest EGOT member?

EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony – four prestigious awards for achievements in the field of arts and entertainment.

Erivo is nominated for both Best Actress for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in a biographical film Harriet and Best Original Song for “Stand Up”. If the English actress and singer wins the Academy Award, she will become the youngest person in the history of EGOT receivers.

There are only 15 people “members” of the EGOT tribe – Richard Rodgers, Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, Audrey Hepburn, Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Tunick, Mel Brooks, Mike Nichols, Whoopi Goldberg, Scott Rudin, Robert Lopez, Andrew Lloyd Weber, John Legend and Tim Rice.

Second: Parasite is the sixth foreign language film in the history of Oscars to be nominated for Best Picture

A dark comedy thriller by Korean director Bong Joon Ho is nominated for not only Best Foreign Language Film but also Best Picture. If Parasite wins, it will become the first foreign film to ever win in the category.

Third: Scarlett Johansson becomes the 12th actor to get two nominations in acting in the same year

Johansson is nominated for Best Actress in the family drama Marriage Story and Best Supporting Actress in the historical comedy-drama Jojo Rabbit. Those are the first and second nominations in her career.

Fourth: Billie Eilish, 18, will give a live performance

The recent Grammy-winning artist is expected to give a special performance tonight. Earlier it has been announced that the singer made a theme record for the upcoming James Bond No Time to Die film. Chances are it’s what Eilish is going to sing during the show.

The Oscars take place at the Dolby Theater on February 9, 2020.
