AUDIO REPORT – Everyone wants to know what’s going on with the National Hockey League. Is the season over for good? Will Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews get his chance to reach the 50-goal plateau? Will the Stanley Cup even be awarded?

Skedline reporter Christian Holmes investigates the NHL’s contingency plan following the suspension of the league’s season on March 12, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Holmes spoke to Paul Hendrick, a long-time broadcaster for the team-owned Leafs Nation Network, about how the Leafs are handling the suspension of its season until further notice.

Holmes also investigates what would happen if the NHL’s season were to resume sometime this summer. Could the NHL try a 16-team round-robin format?
