(Reuters) A United States judge has ordered the wife of Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to be detained on charges she helped run his multibillion drug enterprise while he was in jail.
Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31, is charged. Guzman was convicted in February 2019 in a high-profile Brooklyn trial for trafficking tons of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine in the United States over two decades.
