Some smokers steamed about latest city bylaw

Toronto City Council passed a bylaw prohibiting smokers from lighting up within nine meters of public buildings, parks, playgrounds, sports fields and beaches in mid-November. December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Humber College held a commemoration service at the North campus for students to reflect on the murders of 14 female students at l’École Polytechnique in 1989 as well as other women who’ve been victims of violence.
