MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (REUTERS) –
Canadian Milos Raonic set another record in his third career Grand Slam win against Spanish Feliciano Lopez in the quarterfinal on Monday.
Hammering huge serves against Lopez, Raonic obtained three aces by the final match winning with 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-3.
“There was some great tennis played today and it’s only going to get better,” Raonic told The Globe and Mail yesterday.
Raonic made it to the Wimbledon semifinals last summer and reach the French Open quarterfinals in 2014. But he has never been past the fourth round in Melbourne and no Canadian has ever won a Grand Slam singles title.
Raonic will face Novak Djokovic of Serbia on Wednesday.
