Family Day is coming up and what better way to celebrate than with fun filled family activities in our town. Toronto is home to many great events, festivals, and fairs for all ages. This weekend especially is offering activities from plays and orchestras to sports. Here are five of Toronto’s planned events for Feb. 17 and 18.

 

The Wizard of Oz with a Live Orchestra

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra is taking a journey down the yellow brick road. The Wizard of Oz play will be joined together with live orchestra this Saturday and Sunday. The show is held at the Roy Thomson Hall and starts at 7:30pm on Saturday and 3:00pm on Sunday. Tickets are priced from $25 – $88. All ages are welcome, so the Oz is a great option for Family Fun!

 

KidsFest Toronto

KidsFest! Canada’s largest indoor inflatable event is back! This weekend the International Centre will hold over 30 inflatable rides and slides. There will also be educational activities and stage presentations from Mad Science and Hands-On Exotics. The event goes from Feb. 17-19 starting at 10:00am and finishing at 6:00pm. Tickets are priced at $25 for kids and $8 for adults. Let your kids enjoy the magic of inflatable fun!

 

Toronto Black Film Festival

Come watch a film for Family Day! Feb. 14-19 the 6th annual Toronto Black Film Festival (TBFF) is featuring five World Premieres, two International Premieres, two North American Premieres, and 21 Canadian Premieres. The festival is presented by TD bank in collaboration with Global News. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children, all ages are welcome!

 

Skateboard Lessons

Learn how to skateboard this weekend. Impact Skateboard Club is holding lessons for kids of all ages and all skills levels this Saturday. The event will take place at Danforth Church starting at 10:00am to noon. There will be an hour of lessons followed by an hour of supervised skate. The tickets range from $20-$25 a session.

 

Family Fun Fest

Come and join the family fun with Family Fun Fest! Downsview Park is holding the three day carnival event this weekend. Jumping castles, obstacle courses, and arcade games are just few of the attractions featured for children aged 2-12 years old. The event goes from 10:00am to 6:00pm and tickets are $25 for children, $18 for adults.
