Accused Toronto van attacker, Alek Minassian, was set to appear in court today after killing 10 people after driving a van along a Yonge and Sheppard sidewalk last April, according to CP24.
Although Minassian faces 10 counts of first degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder and has not been seen in court since May, he was not present in court today.
His lawyer appeared in his stead.
Ontario’s Attorney General granted the prosecution’s request to go straight to trial and bypass a preliminary hearing in late 2018.
A month long trial is set for February of 2020.
