CFL veteran Chad Owens charged with assault

Former CFL player Chad Owens has been arrested and charged with one count of assault.
According to Peel Regional Police, Owens was arrested Monday and made a court appearance Tuesday, but no further details have been provided.
The 36-year-old Hawaiian native has played for the Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Owens is a 10-year veteran but did not play for the league last season.
