Humber College Lakeshore campus is hosting a live painting event on March 6th. The live painting exhibit is meant to ‘inspire Humber students’ to get creative and submit art for the upcoming Humber Art Show. Students will have the opportunities to win cash prizes and be showcased at the League for Innovation International competition.

This year will be the 33rd annual art show which gives students from all of Humber’s programs the chance to have their art/photography showcased.

Ruby Boamah, Chair of the Humber Art Show, spoke about where she got the inspiration for this year’s live painting event. “We wanted to go with a broadway theme as it’s something most people are familiar with.” Ruby also said that the art does not necessarily need to be Broadway themed but there will be sketched canvasses, themed music, and snacks.

Boamah also said that all students are welcome at the event. “We wanted to do something that’s creative and interactive. We want people from all faculties there.”

Winners from the art show will go to the League for Innovation International Competition. The League showcases all art from North America and Humber College is one of the only schools in North America partnered with them.

3rd place from last years contest

The live art event will take place on the second floor of Humber College’s L building at 12-1PM. Submissions for the art show can be taken to the K building IGNITE office from Monday, March 11-15. Follow the hashtag #LightsCameraArtShow on social media for updates.
