Leafs defenseman, Morgan Rielly tied a franchise record as he delivered four assists in the second period. This record was originally set by Rick Vaive on March 12,1984, being the most assist by a Leafs player in a regular-season period with four.
Rielly says “We just talked about being patient and not trying to force too much.” Rielly also talks about the team`s reoccurring slow starts to games and how it has affected the overall performance of the Leafs. “ I thought we played a good first and obviously didn’t get the results we wanted.”
With last night’s win, the Leafs improve to 4-2-1 and will travel to Washington to play their second game in two nights against the Capitals.
