Staff at the Humber College Peer Assisted Learning Support Center (PALS) are putting on Last Call for Fall: a cozy, school-wide study session to help students keep up with their school work as the semester comes to a close.

Last Call features free academic support through tutoring, workshops, and math and writing assistance, as well as food, games, nail treatments, and even a spa table to help students de-stress.

Peer learning program coordinator Jennifer Ricketts says she wants the event to help foster a sense of community on campus, and make students more aware of the free academic support available around them.

Math center volunteer Kanu Gupta says “a lot of new students don’t actually know about all of the services we provide. The first-year experience can be very overwhelming when students don’t know, so it’s helpful.”

Student Melissa King says she was walking by with friends when they noticed the party going on in the Learning Resource Center, and decided to stop by.

“The massage was the best part!” King says.

Last Call for Fall wraps up at 8 p.m. today, just under a month out from exam season, but Peer Assisted Learning Support will continue on through the end of the semester.
