Somewhere in between the Presidential campaigns of major candidates like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Joe Biden is a candidate that approaches the political world in an unorthodox fashion.

Ace Watkins is a Presidential candidate whose platform focuses on video games and how we can use them to our advantage in the real world.

Watkins showcased what issues he hopes to address as a candidate at the 2020 McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner.

“Our health care platform is based upon the Pokemon health care platform. It sounds silly right? Pokecenters are free at point of service, if you ever have a catastrophic life event, if you end up losing consciousness and you don’t know what’s going to happen, you’re going to wake up in the Pokecenter, in the hospital, and all of your bills are paid.”

Watkins is also hoping to tackle the criminal justice platform, and racial discrimination.

“Black and brown people are disproportionately punished for the same crimes, drug use is about the same amongst different groups.”

He hopes to decriminalize marijuana possession as President of the United States.

“In my culture, gaming culture, weed is funny. 420 blaze it, no scopes, 69, you know?

For some people, it’s life ending. Some people get caught with some marijuana and they go to jail. I think we should expunge all their criminal records.”

“We want to bring people around to a progressive, inclusive agenda, much like a game of Mario Kart. Everybody’s welcome, anyone can play. Those at the top might have to get a bit of worse items every once in a while, those at the bottom get better items so they can catch up.”

Watkins wants to share the wealth and create a more diverse and level playing field starting in 2020.

“When you think Ace Watkins, I want you to think of the best experience you’ve had playing a game of Mario Kart, for all of America.”
