For the first time since the Summer and Winter Olympics began alternating every two years in the 1990s, the athletic world is set to have two Games very close together as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic pushing back Tokyo 2020 to this past summer. Those Olympics just wrapped up a few months ago, but the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are rapidly approaching.

On this podcast, host Benedict Rhodes speaks to two people at the forefront of Olympic coverage in Canada.

First, Thomas Hall, Director of Communications and Media Relations for the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), and an Olympic medalist, joins the show to talk about his role with the COC, winning a bronze medal the last time the Olympics were in Beijing, and how his experience as a journalist as well helps him in his current job.

After that, Devin Heroux of CBC comes on to discuss his trip to Tokyo to cover the Games this summer, preparing to head to Beijing for the Winter Olympics in February, and some athletes to keep an eye on as Olympic Qualifiers heat up.
