It was announced yesterday that Dan Stevens is in negotiations to play the Beast in Disney’s live action retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
The breakout actor of Downtown Abby will join Emma Watson who is playing Beauty, Luke Evans who is in talks to play Gaston and Bill Condon who is directing what could turn out to be an all-British cast.
It has not been confirmed that the retelling is a musical but Watson did say in a Facebook post “It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There.’”
