Millionaire Robert Durst admits in a TV show finale that he “killed them all”.
Reuters reported that Durst has been arrested in New Orleans on a murder warrant issued by Los Angeles County, the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Durst, born in 1943, is known for life twists that led him to be questioned but not charged in the mysterious deaths of his first wife Kathleen Durst in 1982 and a long time friend in 2000.
Reuters reported that Durst, scion of one of New York’s largest real estate empires, is due in court for an extradition hearing on Monday after his arrest in New Orleans on a murder warrant issued out of Los Angeles County.
Durst was arrested just before the release of “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst”, a documentary about his links to three murders scheduled for Sunday. FBI agents arrested him at a hotel on Saturday with a warrant from Los Angeles. The murder of a mobster’s daughter 15 years ago was the reason from authorities, according to The Telegraph
The Washington Post says Durst’s arrest was a result of new evidence that came forward in the episode that aired. Filmmakers found a letter Durst wrote to his friend Susan Berman, who he murdered. The letter had similar handwriting to an anonymous note sent to police about Berman’s body.
