Back-to-back MVP winner, Steve Nash announced the end to an 18-year NBA career yesterday.
The BC-raised Nash was one of the best point guards of his era. Combining quickness, athleticism and court vision, he was able to rack up the third most assists of all time. His lights-out shooting at the free throw line will go down as the best in NBA history, making just over 90 per cent throughout his career.
He will be best known for his time with Dirk Nowitzki and Dallas Mavericks as well as his stint with the run-and-gun offence of the Phoenix Suns.
Nash represented Team Canada at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and would have played at the following games in Athens had Canada made it.
In recent years, Nash has been transitioning into film making. The Finish Line, a documentary series on the lead up to his retirement, is available through Grantland.
