With the 2017-2018 school year slowly coming to an end, that means the IGNITE elections are right around the corner.
Each year Humber College gets a new batch of IGNITE candidates running for either Board of Directors, Vice President and President.
On Tuesday, IGNITE had their candidate forum in the L Commons of Lakeshore campus. Each candidate from all positions came ready with their platform speeches, as well as the knowledge to be able to not only answer questions from this year’s panel — which was made up of this year’s Board of Directors staff: Nicholas Davenport, Allyson Sander and Niña Jocson — but from Humber students as well.

Each candidate had different reasons for why they were running. Skedline reporter Greg Philion chatted with Vice President hopeful Graham Budgeon to find out why he decided to run.
During the candidate forum, each candidate explained why they were fit for the job. After each candidate was done speaking, students were given a chance to ask questions.

The voting begins next week, starting March 12 and goes until March 15. The winners of all positions will be announced March 15 by 5 p.m.
The entire IGNITE team is encouraging students to go out and vote. Voting stations can be found around campus in L Building, AB Building as well as the K Cottage.
