Toronto (The Canadian Press) –
The province is set to announce a 10 per cent tuition cut for Ontario post-secondary students for the 2019-2020 academic year.
This would mean an average savings of $660 for undergraduate students and $340 for college students, the government says.
The cut to tuition costs would be followed by a freeze the following year. Operating grants to colleges and universities would be dependant on compliance with this new framework.
The decrease does not include tuition for international students.
A formal announcement will be made Thurs., Jan. 17.
