The Maple Leafs beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 on Thursday.

Auston Matthews and John Tavares both delivered in the second period. Mathews tapped in the first goal, and Tavares followed suit after a beautiful shot by William Nylander bounced off the crossbar.

Just 22 seconds into the third period, Mitch Marner fired the puck at Sabres goalie Carter Hutton and it slid slowly into the net.

Continuing through the period at 3-2 for the leafs, Zach Hyman locked in the win with an empty-net goal in the last 30 seconds of the game.

With a goal and an assist in last night’s game, Auston Matthews recorded his 200th career NHL point.

The Leafs are back at home on Saturday when they face off against the New York Rangers at 7:00 pm.
