Angela O’Grady: The hand that feeds you

Angela is an aspiring journalist passionate about social issues in her community.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and exploring new areas. While working at the local Youth Shelter during the summer of 2020, she discovered her passion for non-profits and has since made it her goal to work in the non-profit sector. Her time at the youth shelter also inspired her thesis, The hand that feeds you. Angela was seeing first-hand the drastic impact that food insecurity has on Peterborough and wanted to learn more. Her podcast explores the severity of food insecurity in Peterborough, Ont. Angela had some experience creating podcasts through school, but this was her first real dive into the craft. Though a challenge, she enjoyed the conversational tone that podcasting brought, and thinks that allowing listeners to hear the source’s voice brings a whole other aspect to the story.
